Shafter man killed in a head on collission

A 30 year-old Shafter man was killed in a head on collission with a tractor trailer rig on Highway 58 east of Elk Grove Dr. in Buttonwillow.



The CHP says Dustin O'Neal Garcia was driving eastbound at about 3:30 tuesday afternoon when his vehicle drifted into the path of the Big-Rig. Garcia was air lifted to Kern Medical Center where he died about an hour later. The truck driver sustained minor injuries but his rig caught fire which spread to a near-by residence causing some damage.
