Congressman McCarthy to Present Twenty Local Students With Medal of Merit This Monday

Monday, May 12, 2008 at 4:00 PM PDT, Congressman Kevin McCarthy will present twenty local high school students with a Medal of Merit. Earlier this year, high school principals were invited to select one outstanding graduating senior per school to receive the Medal of Merit.



The Medal of Merit is a new award created by Congressman McCarthy to honor outstanding high school students who have demonstrated academic excellence, exemplary citizenship and leadership skills, and have earned a 3.5 GPA or higher.

The ceremony to honor twenty local Kern County students is this Monday from 4:00 pm – 5:00 PM PDT at the Kern County Superintendent of Schools Office (Board Room) – 1300 17th Street, City Centre, Bakersfield,
